Braithwaite Village

Thursday 14th November 2024

It has been a long three weeks since the last time we were away at Witches Craig, and booking into any site around Keswick is harder than might be, but we took a Friday off and departed on a Thursday evening for a change.

We arrived pretty late to Braithwaite Village Camping and Caravanning Club site, it was a dark and pretty foggy drive down the M74 and then A66.

We unfortunately interrupted the Warden’s dinner, but he was still just as friendly and showed us to pitch 6.

We had a super-service pitch, which was really big (and big enough for our awning, which we didn’t bring), so we hooked up and got on with making the dinner.

We had brought a Simply Cook “Bang Bang Chicken” which was really nice and easy to cook in the van, and tasted fantastic, there were already two “Simply Cook” meals in the “best meal cooked in the van” category, and it could be three.

I washed up the dishes and used the facilities, very nice looking.

We had no bandwidth when we arrived, neither phones, nor our in-van router, so we sat reading and listening to music until making up the bed.
