Unusually we headed west on a Friday evening, along the M8, and after we got past the busy part of the road, it was a nice pleasant drive up the A82 and then onto the A817, down the B872 which tracks the Gare Loch for the last few miles.
The weather was dry, and it only took around around eighty minutes to drive the fifty miles.
We arrived at Rosneath Castle Caravan Park, they had emailed me the entry code, but it wasn’t entirely clear whether we should just pick a pitch, I popped my head into the Reception where they confirmed that we should pick from the two remaining pitches.
We pitched up on 17, we were very level, only had to go up on the second level of our blocks, it all looks very new, not sure how long they’ve had the touring block, but Google Maps looks like it shows the touring pitches being created.
We wandered over to peek in the shop, and then popped into the Castle Isle, the menus we’d seen online looked good, and honestly we weren’t disappointed.
I had a cheeseburger and Gayle had a hot dog which were both very nice, the fries were crispy, very good burger.
The place was busy, and we were full so we headed back to the van after taking a look at the facilities.
We watched TV until it was time for sleep.
