Little Acre Camping

Friday 6th September 2024

We arrived early evening, it was a warm drive straight down the m74 and m6 and the site is just off the motorway, surprisingly, it’s not particularly noisy.

We pitched up on pitch 28 after a friendly welcome, then freshened up and headed straight over to the Crooklands Hotel for a cold drink before our dinner booking at 8pm.

It was lovely and warm and we watched the sun go down from our seat outdoors with a nice cold pint of cider.

The hotel is really handy for the site, just across the road from the entrance.

At 8pm we wandered to the restaurant and were seated, Caffreys for me and Gayle had a cocktail.

My main was a Cumberland sausage and black pudding burger while Gayle had beef stroganoff, both were really nice.

I managed dessert with a summer fruits sundae, nice and light.

We wandered back to the site in the dark having forgotten our head torches even after dark it was still pretty warm, there were plenty of tents taking advantage of the camping field on the site.

Our on-board 4g wifi was struggling so we didn’t watch much TV and we read until bedtime.
