It’d been a long two weeks since our last trip.
We headed off, via Moffat because we needed diesel…and honestly, we were tired and it would’ve been nice to just pull into the Moffat site which is definitely one of our favourites.
Instead, we continued on the A708, along a pretty rough road, past the Grey Mare’s Tail, it’s a long road, over 30 miles of single-lane road, through some beautiful countryside.
We passed the Loch of the Lowes, and then St Mary’s Loch, where we stopped briefly to admire the glen, as a passenger it’s beautiful, not so sure about as a driver.
For all there was little traffic, there were still folks willing to take a chance overtaking on corners.
At Selkirk we passed onto the A7 and south to Hawick.
I had let the site know we’d be later than 5pm, and we arrived to Pitch 7 (of 8) and all the pitches were full.
Usually we see lots of rabbits running around on sites, but this was a little different…a flock of chickens running around.
We had a light snacky dinner with a bottle of wine watched some dinner ’til we made up the bed and passed out.
