Sunday 21st July 2024
We got up after 8am, feeling the effects from yesterday’s hike in the hot sun, we were both pretty cooked with red arms and necks.
Breakfast was yoghurt, strawberries and granola, we keep a bag of granola in the van which is handy for something tasty (and mostly healthy) for breakfast.
After the dishes were washed up we wandered round to the Walled Garden at Silverburn Park, it’s definitely worth a visit with beautiful plants and flowers and really peaceful too.
After that we dumped our waste and toilet in the appropriate place and headed off back towards Glasgow, this time via the Queensferry Crossing.
I could unhesitatingly recommend Silverburn Park, it’s in a great location overlooking the Firth of Forth, the Fife Coastal Path is fantastic to walk along, and the facilities were good, it’s a little bit rough just now because they’re redeveloping an old Flax Mill, but it didn’t have a big impact on us, and the benefits outweigh this.
We’ll hopefully return here, bonus points for being open all year round, not many coastal sites are open in winter.
