We were up quite late, after 8am, and the sky was blue with light clouds, we had a light breakfast in the awning, yoghurt and granola and sat reading for the morning, a bit of relaxing down time.
We popped out briefly to Country Harvest for the makings of lunch, tasty ham and a loaf, which with some cheese and slaw from the fridge made an impressive sandwich.
I had a packet of Guinness flavoured crisps, and Gayle had cheese and onion, part of a very tasty lunch.
We bought scones and clotted cream for a mid afternoon treat.
The weather was set to turn on Thursday, so we took advantage of the dry weather to pack up our shelter, other than not dealing perfectly with the brief torrent of rain on Monday, it definitely worked well for a bit of protection from the sun and wind. The mesh works surprisingly well as a wind break.
Later, we booked dinner at the Marton Arms, earliest slot we could get was 8:15pm, because I left it late.
I had lamb croquettes, a great pork chop with roasted apples, really amazingly good, and waffles with pecan and brûlée bananas, which was also fantastic, in particular the bananas.
Gayle had chicken liver parfait with damson ketchup and hazelnut dukka, beef shin and ale pudding, which wasn’t great, lacked a bit of flavour and not enough gravy, and honey crème brûlée which was nice but a bit too sweet.
We wandered back to the made up bed and crashed, relaxation is tiring…
