Dinner by Loch Tay

Saturday 25th May 2024

We were up at 8am, a cuppa tea and cherry yogurt and dark chocolate granola, a great in-van breakfast!

I found the water point, lurking behind the van.

The weather prediction was for a dry day, we relaxed in the morning, a couple of games of scrabble, getting the hang of it

We went for a wander around the site, discovered additional facilities at the top of the hill, the pitches up there definitely look a bit nicer.

I learned that the site was acquired last year, so hopefully this’ll bring in some investment and make the campsite as good as the lodges next-door.

Gayle made calzone in the omnia, good first attempt, apparently the dough was tricky to manage, it tasted good, and learned something from it.

There was a lot of dandelions blowing around, And near constant grass mowing too… wee bit noisy.

In the afternoon we wandered back down to the bistro at the lochside and had a wee drink, it’s a lovely setting, and it was nice and warm in the sun.

We had booked a table for the restaurant, really nice meal, I had a haggis cake for starter and Gayle had the black pudding both were very nice, the haggis was just the way I like it 😀

I opted for the pan fried chicken and Gayle had the mushroom tagliatelle, both were really nice, I had to help out a bit.

For dessert, I had sticky toffee pudding.

Service was great, food was tasty, and the wine was nice, definitely could’ve picked several things from the starters and mains, could recommend the food.

Climbed back up the hill to the site, it had been dry all day, so it wasn’t as muddy as it had been which was nice.

We watched some tv, made up the bed, and passed out.
