It’s been grim week of weather in Glasgow, regular heavy rain and generally dark and not very nice.
We had a conversation about whether we even wanted to head to the Trossachs, such was the weather prognosis, but, we decided to make the most of it!
It took nearly 2hrs to get to the site, “south” on the M74, M80 and then headed through Callendar along the A803, through Killin and onto the site.
We pulled in, and discovered that we needed to pop next door to check-in, which was done efficiently and we drove back to the site.
Pitched up, not far off level, disappointingly there was no view of the loch.
We were on pitch 6, bit shabby, we couldn’t find a water point, and the provided site map isn’t particularly useful.
There was only one other motorhome on site in the camping area, and a fair number of tents.
We wandered down to the bistro, along very muddy paths, it’s a steep hill, no table tonight, booked for tomorrow.
The next door site is lovely, amazing views over the loch, glassy water, beautiful lochside lodges.
We wandered back to the van, and prepared a “Simply Cook” penne alla rustica, using our recently purchased GSI pans, could definitely recommend it.
We used a tin of cherry tomatoes, and phildaelphia instead of cream, and it turned out really tasty.
A lovely glass of Sangria to accompany 😀
Dishes washed, we settled down to watch some TV, made up the bed and crashed, I fell asleep to the sound of rain.
