We set off along the M8 East again, towards Drummohr Campsite.

We’d been here in September 2022, in only our fifth trip in the van.

Back then, we’d spent a warm weekend in Musselburgh and Portobello, the site was nice, and in a great location for walking along the Forth into Edinburgh.

This time, we’d resolved to walk along the John Muir Way into Aberlady.

We arrived around 6pm after an uneventful trip along the M8 and A720, we got pitched up on B27, and the site seemed pretty busy.

It was raining when we arrived, so…we had dinner in the van and a beer and settled down for the evening, knowing that we wanted a good walk in the morning.
