Friday 29th March 2024
After a three week hiatus, we were back on the road for the Easter holiday break.
We were up early, got the van packed, and set off around 8:30am because we needed diesel, we got back to Glasgow last time with around 29 miles of range.
We headed off up the A82, spotting lots of motorhomes and campervans on the road, we pulled into, the Green Welly for brunch nice toastie not too greasy and ok coffee, Gayle had a toastie too.
Beautiful journey through Glen Coe then onto Fort William and finally Glen Nevis.
The roads were very busy with motorhomes and campervans, presumably heading towards Inverness for the NC500.
We got pitched up just after 1pm, lovely site, amazing views and it was sunny and warm, air temperature was a bit chilly.
We set off into Fort William and it’s a nice walk along the route of the West Highland Way, it’s about an hour into the centre of town, we had been here just after we got married in 2011, en route to Sallachy but I didn’t remember much of it.
We wandered around the town for a bit, then popped into Morrisons and picked up some food for later.
Back to the site around 6pm, it was getting a bit chilly, we relaxed and watched some TV for a bit, it’s a really nice large open site, the sign indicated that it was full over the weekend.
Dinner was a light pasta and garlic bread, nothing too heavy.
I popped over to wash the dishes and was knackered and fell asleep about 9:30pm.
