Friday 26th January 2024
It was a windy night, we were pretty exposed to the wind coming in off the sea, and it was very loud, hard to sleep overnight.
I’m not sure if parking facing into the prevailing wind direction would help (aerodynamics of the van?) but it was definitely pretty wild.
We parked nose-in (which is unusual for us) because we wanted a view out towards the sea from the rear.
We had a light breakfast, and headed off early, Gayle chatted to the owners of the site, apparently it only opened in September 2023, we could definitely recommend it, and when we go back to Anglesey (hopefully in summer) we would definitely stay there again.
We left Frongoch at half past ten, and with some stopoffs we got back after 5pm, we ended up picking up fuel at Moffat en-route.
It’s a nice drive along the North Wales Expressway, somehow the coastal path looks better westbound.
Then onto the M6 and then M74, cruise-control on and some podcasts, and it was a pretty easy journey.
We popped into Moto Lancaster on the way north, got a pastie which wasn’t as good as the Cornwall Bakery but it filled a gap, it was a bitterly cold day in the wind.
Got home, unpacked what we needed to unpack, and rested up.
Wales was definitely fun, late January is not the right time to see it at its best, but we will be back.
