It was very windy overnight, felt a lot worse than Sunday night (Isha), this was storm Jocelyn, and the van was definitely rocking, with long gusts of wind.
At one point, our screen cover was pulled off the van, so it was a mad race out to grab it before it blew away and stuff it into its sack, we didn’t sleep well at all.
That was our fourth night at Chirk, and we got up at 8am, had hot cross buns and coffee for breakfast, and jumped into the on-site showers (which are really nice).
We drove north to the North Wales Expressway (A5) and headed west, called into Prestatyn, which looked nice, but all the car parks we could find had height barriers, so no lunch in Prestatyn for us.
Gayle remembered that there was a car park in Conwy with designated motorhome parking at Mar Bach, and we managed to find it, and get parked up (we were the only large vehicles in the car park).
Conwy is a beautiful town centred around a castle, it was very cold and windy to do more than a basic exploration, we did find Great Britain’s smallest house tho'.
It was cold and windy wandering around, but we popped into Dylans, I had a great calzone and Gayle had a pizza with some tasty chips to share, really nice food.
So, we drove along the very picturesque route from Conwy to Anglesey, it was easy to find the campsite, and there was only one other van parked up.
It was dark and windy when we arrived, so a light dinner and we watched a bit of TV.
